Farsley Celtic are looking forward to taking on FC Halifax Town at the third time of asking in the West Riding County Cup second round tomorrow night.

The Throstle Nest tie was scheduled for last Tuesday and then again for the following evening but was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch on both occasions.

The Celts had to shelve tonight’s Blue Square North league game at Fleetwood in order to get the cup tie played.

Farsley’s press officer James Grayson said: “It would have been interesting if it had gone ahead last week because Ryan Crossley would have been running the side from the dugout.

“The Halifax manager Neil Aspin was away on holiday and his No 2 Trevor Storton was unavailable so, as senior player, Ryan would have been in charge against one of his old clubs.”

Crossley has done the rounds locally after being at Bradford Park Avenue, when Storton was the manager, Farsley and Guiseley before rejoining the Shaymen. The centre back began his career with Halifax Town when they were in the Conference.
