Recalled Semi Tadulala admits being dropped could have been the best thing for him.

The winger is back in the Bulls’ 19-man squad for the trip to Celtic Crusaders after being axed against Wigan last week.

It came as a surprise to some that the ten-try Fijian was dumped for the first time in his Bradford career.

But Tadulala insisted he expected the dreaded call and believes he will come back better for it.

He said: “I wasn’t really surprised. I knew my form wasn’t good enough. I didn’t play well the week before so I wasn’t surprised I got left out of the team.

“I took it as an opportunity though rather than a negative and if I do get another chance against Celtic I have to prove myself and that I am worth being in the team.”

Tadulala, 30, is expected to come straight in for Michael Platt and has had the opportunity to rest some niggling injuries, while improving certain areas of his game.

“There’s just been little things that I have to work on but it’s little things that really count,” said the former Wakefield Trinity Wildcats flier.

“They make a big difference in doing the job to the best of my ability and if I do that then everything else will look after itself.

“It’s been refreshing for me as well and I want to be able to show now what I really can do for these last seven games.”

Tadulala also knows his Odsal future is still up in the air as talks are on-going about a new contract.

A late surge of form could secure him the deal he wants and he will be looking to impress against Celtic.

Tadulala was helpless when the Welsh outfit produced the shock of the season in defeating Bradford 30-24 at Odsal in May.

Little has gone right since for the Bulls, who are desperate to end a five-match losing run tomorrow evening.

“I think they’ll be looking to get another win over us, especially being at their home ground, but we really need this victory,” conceded Tadulala.

“We still owe them from last time but, after our performances in the last three or four games, we really need to improve ourselves.”

Meanwhile, Glenn Morrison is also back in the squad after his rib injury, with Steve Crossley and Ben Jeffries dropping out.
