OLD GROVIANS, which is heavily populated by players from Bradford & Bingley, have won the Bradford & District Evening League finals day at Undercliffe Cricket Club.
In the semi-finals, Old Grovians made 173-6 off their 18 overs, including 45 by Jason Slator, 39 by Ed Brown, 37 by Jack Luxton and 34 by Charlie Popley, Bowling Old Lane just falling short with a creditable reply of 165-9.
In the final, Old Grovians scored 149-6, Olicanians’ Neyko Stiglingh retiring on 50, Luxton making 36 and Stiglingh’s clubmate, Ethan McLelland, who skippered the winning side, 21.
Sam Carroll picked up 4-30 for Undercliffe, who replied with 96-8, Carroll scoring 26, Dan Dickens 18 and junior Navjot Singh 20 not out.
Off-spinners Reece Cockshott took 2-14 and Dom Bradbourne 4-20.
In the other semi-final, Undercliffe beat nine-man Thornton.
