Ellie Kildunne is heading to the Olympics in Paris later this month.
Now renowned as one of England’s best rugby union players, the Keighley native started out in rugby league, with Keighley Albion her first club.
She later switched to rugby union, where she started out at Keighley RUFC.
Kildunne will be playing in the Sevens tournament for Team GB, having missed out on going to the Olympics in Tokyo three years ago.
She was in line to head out to Japan back then but made the difficult decision to withdraw from contention in order to make herself eligible for a professional XVs contract.
The 24-year-old was the top scorer in England’s Six Nations triumph earlier this year, and she will be joined in the Sevens squad for Paris by her international team-mate Megan Jones.
Kildunne is one of the 12-strong squad, alongside Jones, Amy Wilson-Hardy, Ellie Boatman, Emma Uren, Grace Crompton, Heather Cowell, Isla Norman-Bell, Jade Shekells, Jasmine Joyce, Lauren Torley and Lisa Thomson.
Abi Burton and Kayleigh Powell are the two reserves ready to step up at short notice.
