TONG Park Esholt, who performed an escapology act to avoid demotion from the Aire-Wharfe top-flight last season, are out of a relegation place this time around in the Premier Division.

And they managed to do that in impressive fashion, as they won by three wickets in a low-scoring clash at third-placed Adel, handing them their first defeat.

Adel opted to have first knock, but, despite an opening stand of 39, could only make 104 as wickets fell at regular intervals.

Shahid Mehmood finished with 5-37 and Saqib Mir 4-18 as the home side were back in the pavilion after 31 overs.

Esholt had to graft too, but an opening partnership of 48 between Jake Sali (26) and skipper Dave Hester (34) gave them some leeway, as they advanced serenely to 71-1.

That became 90-7, however, before Mehmood and Mir showed that they could bat too as the target was passed in the 26th over.

TPE are tenth, and one place and two points above them are Saltaire, who were no match for Collingham.

Saltaire batted first at Roberts Park and totalled 139 after recovering from 95-8, with the most impressive contribution coming from Sandeep Singh (41).

Collingham were 20-2 but there were no further alarms for them as they won by eight wickets in the 27th over.

Bolton Villas are up to fourth in Division One after timing their run chase nicely against New Rover at All Alone Road.

The visitors made 211-8 after being sent in, Mobeen Qureshi taking 3-42, and the hosts overcame the handicap of losing opener Siraj Hussain retired not out for 37 to win by six wickets in the 43rd over.

Nachiket Verlekar guided Villas home with 58 not out after Hussain and Adam Ahmed had scored the majority of a 58-run partnership for the second wicket.

Verlekar then added 66 for the third with Bilal Ahmed (37) before putting on 53 unbroken with Suliman Ali (33no).

Third-placed Bingley Congs and fourth-placed Shadwell swapped places in Division Two after the latter won by five wickets at Beckfoot Lane.

Congs, sent in, had only two players in double figures in their 136, captain George Hicks (58) putting on 67 for the fifth wicket with Mohammad Adil (36).

Shadwell were then 82-5 before an unbroken partnership of 55 took them to victory in the 43rd over.

Thackley climbed two places to eighth after notching their first league win of the season at Green Lane, one of the clubs that they leap-frogged.

Opener Jack Allport (40) and skipper Jack Holland (46) put on 69 for the second wicket in Thackley’s 165 after they won the toss.

Green Lane were 15-5 and while they recovered somewhat, they were still bowled out for 90, losing by 75 runs as Jordan Moore took 4-24.
