Yorkshire County Cricket Club will have new overseas signing Vishwa Fernando available for their next three Vitality County Championship matches.

The Sri Lanka international, a left-arm seam bowler, returns to county cricket having played for Durham at the back end of last season, taking seven wickets in two matches for the Division Two champions.

The new ball quick met up with the Yorkshire playing squad for their game with Sussex at Hove, at the weekend, where he was able to train on the pitch.

Fernando will feature for Yorkshire in their match against Northamptonshire at Wantage Road later this week.

The 32-year-old will then be in the side for Yorkshire’s games against Gloucestershire at Scarborough and Derbyshire at Chesterfield late next month.
