BRADFORD (Park Avenue) have waved goodbye to assistant manager and goalkeeper coach Dean Baker.

He joined the club in December after the departure of previous keeper coach Danny King and quickly impressed new boss Danny Whitaker, earning himself that number two role as well.

But Baker confirmed his departure from the club this week, with a heartfelt message posted to social media.

In it, he wrote: “It is with a heavy heart that I have decided to leave my role as assistant manager and goalkeeper coach at Bradford (Park Avenue).

I want to thank everyone at the club for making me feel so welcomed and also thank Whitts and (sporting director) Tom (McStravick) for what they have done for me while I have been here.”

Baker added: “I hope the club gets back to where it should be and I have no doubt it’s on the up.

“It’s in capable hands with the staff there now.

“Good luck for next season and the future, and maybe one day our paths will cross again.”
