PUDSEY St Lawrence may have been founded nearly 200 years ago, but they broke new ground earlier this month.
The Bradford Premier League club may not have been handing out their Keith Moss Club Player of the Year since their formation in 1845, but it has been the most prestigious individual award at St Lawrence for a long, long time.
For the first time in history the other week, it was won by a female player, and there was no more deserving recipient than Megan Fleming.
Club chairman Chris Gott highlighted Fleming’s lifelong involvement with St Lawrence when presenting her with the award.
She also captained the ladies team to the league title last year and second place this season, in no small part due to her own excellent individual performances.
Fleming also has a wider commitment to the club, working as a coach for their younger girls, as well as being the scorer for their men’s first XI.
