TONG Park Esholt captain Dave Hester led from the front on Saturday, hitting a magnificent 125 not out to ease his side’s Aire-Wharfe League Division One relegation fears.

His innings took just 96 balls, and contained nine sixes, as TPE racked up 256-2 from just 32 overs against visiting New Rover.

The away side started brightly enough in their chase, but fell away, as Riley Vernon’s 3-52 saw the hosts to a 48-run win.

Saltaire made 152-9 in their 20 overs against North Leeds, Javid Usama taking 4-14 as they were bowled out for only 98.

Steeton had a wonderful weekend, moving up to second in Division Two with a thumping nine-wicket win over Calverley St Wilfrids, before reaching the Waddilove Cup final for a second straight year by beating Pool in a bowl-off after a rain-affected encounter.

Bolton Villas were left smarting, as they suffered an agonising one-wicket defeat to Colton Institute, leaving them eighth.

Mohammed Shoaib took 4-24 for Thackley as they reduced Ilkley’s seconds to 144-9 in 35 overs in Division Three.

And the Bradford side are now in mid-table after a successful chase, just.

Shoaib was the hero once again, as his 59 not out saw his team home by one wicket.

Harden were victorious by four wickets in a high-scoring, rain-affected match against Shadwell, as Toby Priestley, carrying an injury hit a match-winning 100 from 75 balls.

Finally, Bingley Congs remain second in the table after winning by 72 runs against Green Lane’s seconds in Division Four.

Congs keeper George Hicks made a fine 94 at the top of the order, which helped his side post 240-3 from 37 overs.

Green Lane struggled in their chase, and could only make 171-8 chasing a revised victory target of 244, Harry Greenhalgh taking 3-37.
