WEST Bowling look well set for promotion from Division One of the National Conference League.

They moved eight points clear at the summit on Saturday after winning 22-10 at title rivals Heworth, and with only six games to go, it would take a stunning collapse from here for the BD6 side not to win the league.

Winger Lewis Taylor was the star of the show at the weekend with two tries, which were added to by Aidan Scully and Liam Darville.

Harry Williams landed two goal attempts, and Liam Coe one, as Bowling put their expectant hosts to the sword.

In the NCL West, Bowling’s academy beat Dewsbury Moor 36-6 and are four points clear at the summit, though second-placed Stanningley have two games in hand.

And rounding off a good weekend for Bowling, the U16s backed up their National Cup triumph by winning the Yorkshire Cup at Batley Bulldogs’ ground, winning 36-0 against Stanley Rangers.

In Division One of the Yorkshire Men’s League, Keighley Albion warmed up nicely for this weekend’s YML League Cup final against Newsome Panthers.

They moved up to second in the division by beating Ossett Trinity Tigers 24-6.

Bradford Dudley Hill moved two points clear at the top of Division Two following a walkover win against Farnley Falcons.

Odsal Sedbergh conceded to Moldgreen themselves, and they sit third-bottom.

Wyke stay at the foot of Division Three, after they went down 22-10 to fellow strugglers Underbank Rangers.

Birkenshaw Blue Dogs won their title showdown with West Craven Warriors 34-14 in Division 4B, the emphatic victory putting them three points clear at the summit.
