THACKLEY AFC have announced the pre-season schedule for 2023/2024 season, with some fantastic games lined up.

First up, it’s a visit to Route One Rovers on Tuesday 27 June who have this season been promoted to and joined the North West Counties Football League ("NWCFL") Division 1, and will be playing at Marley Stadium on the 4G surface this coming season.

This is quickly followed by a blockbuster tie against the newly merged Bury on Saturday 1 July at Dennyfield. This will be the first game for Bury following the recent merger vote and is sure to be a packed out affair. A separate announcement regarding this fixture, events planned for the day and how tickets can be purchased by supporters online will be released shortly.

Following the Bury game is another visit to Marley Stadium for the Dennyboys, this time to play Steeton AFC on Tuesday 4 July and then they travel to Ilkley Town on Saturday 8 July. Both teams play on a 4G surface as well and both are also currently in the NWCFL Division 1.

A fixture on 11 July is currently awaiting confirmation, but following this the opposition ramps up again with two home fixtures against higher league opposition visiting Dennyfield.

First up, Stalybridge Celtic of the Northern Premier League are the opposition on Saturday 15 July, followed by the Lions as Guiseley AFC also of the Northern Premier League visit on Tuesday 18 July.

The current final scheduled game is on Saturday 22 July as Thackley face Northwich Victoria, who recently were transferred laterally from the NWCFL Premier Division to the Midland League Premier Division, again the game taking place at Dennyfield in advance of the NCEL Premier Division season due to kick off on Saturday 29 July 2023.

The club have confirmed that further details of each match will be released in due course for supporters looking to attend the games.
