WEST Bowling produced a sensational comeback at the weekend to maintain their two-point lead at the summit of Division One of the National Conference League.

The Bradford side were staring down the barrel at Pilkington Recs, losing 22-6 with an hour of the game gone, with only a Daniel Halmshaw converted try to show for their efforts.

But they roared back in spectacular fashion, going on to win 28-22 with a last-gasp converted try.

Logan Simpson was the hero of the remarkable recovery, the stand-off crossing the whitewash twice, while interchanges Lewis Galtress and Lewis Taylor also scored.

Winger Charlie Barrett tagged the extras on to three of Bowling’s five tries, while Ben Heald also landed a conversion.

Bowling are two points clear of Oulton Raiders, and now hold a six-point gap to third.

Drighlington were involved in a cracking contest of their own in Division Three on Saturday.

But flying full-back Kieran Prescott proved the difference, as his four tries helped Leigh East to a 36-22 win over their BD11 opponents.

Drig sit eighth, after three wins and five defeats so far this season.

Brighouse Rangers are joint-bottom of the Yorkshire Men’s League Premier Division, losing their third game from four after being thumped 52-22 at King Cross Park.

In Division One, Keighley Albion are up to third after an impressive 48-16 win over Sharlston Rovers.

It remains an all-Bradford top-three in Division Two,

Wibsey are still at the summit after their walkover win against Greetland All Rounders, with Bradford Dudley Hill second after crushing Illingworth 36-6.

Queensbury sit third despite having a week off league action, while Odsal Sedbergh drop to seventh after losing 28-20 at home to Farnley Falcons.

In Division Three, Wyke played superbly to claim their first win of the season, beating Elland 26-22.

Birkenshaw Blue Dogs stay top of Division 4B after thumping Moldgreen A 54-16, but Keighley Albion Academy slipped to fifth after being beaten 28-16 at Todmorden.
