THREE boxers from the Bradford District are set to return to the ring in July.

One of the world’s largest boxing companies, Maree Boxing, has released details of two events at Oldham Sports Centre this summer, with Bradford’s Tauseef Suleman and Hamed Ghaz, as well as Keighley’s Ibrahim Nadim all included.

Suleman (3-0) is up first, with his lightweight bout in Greater Manchester taking place on Saturday, July 15.

His professional career may be in its early stages but he has made a bright start, defeating John Spencer, Jamie Quinn and Naeem Ali so far.

The Saturday after bout number four for Suleman, it is the turn of Ghaz (18-1) and Nadim (9-1) at the same venue.

The latter two will be looking for revenge, having both lost for the first time as professionals in their previous bouts.

Ghaz lost a thrilling English lightweight title battle by unanimous decision to Reece Mould in Rotherham this February, with the Bradfordian hampered by a cut above his right eye in round nine.

As for featherweight Nadim, who was born in Steeton but now resides in Keighley, he suffered a surprise narrow points defeat to Bulgaria’s Tinko Banabakov in Oldham at the start of March.

None of the trio have had their July opponents confirmed yet.

A third boxer on the July 22 card with links to the district is Francis Kershaw.

The Leeds-born light heavyweight, who now resides in Bradford, is currently 2-0 and he is on the same card as Ghaz and Nadim, also against an unnamed opponent.

But he is back in the ring before then too, as he takes on Oliver Brackenbury-Danquah in the LUFC Banqueting Suite at Leeds United's Elland Road stadium on Saturday, June 24.
