WEST Bowling shrugged off the absence of regular kicker Harry Williams to record an impressive 42-4 home win over Heworth on Saturday.

Winger Lewis Taylor helped himself to a hat-trick of tries, while the prolific Jack Milburn helped himself to a brace.

Bradley Wright, Owen Simpson and former Keighley Cougars man Aidan Scully were the other men to cross the whitewash for Dean Muir’s table-toppers.

The hosts were unsurprisingly a little less accurate from the kicking tee as usual in the absence of Williams, but still converted five of those eight tries.

Wright and Dom Brambani helped themselves to one apiece, with Liam Coe nailing three of his attempts from the kicking tee.

Drighlington fought hard against Division Three leaders Oldham St Annes, but eventually slipped to a 30-16 home defeat.

It was a good day for two of the Bradford sides in Division Two of the Yorkshire Men’s League, as Wibsey Warriors beat Illingworth 38-16, while Queensbury were handed a 24-0 walkover win against Kirkburton Cougars.

In Division 4B, Birkenshaw Blue Dogs squeezed past hosts West Craven Warriors 19-16, as Brighouse Rangers A crushed Todmorden 58-12.

Keighley Albion made it a clean sweep for the Bradford sides in that division by winning 28-20 at King Cross Park Academy.
