BRADFORD boxer Darren Tetley has finally had his return to the ring confirmed.

The Holme Wood star hasn’t fought since his points defeat to Dom Hunt back in September last year – where he also suffered a hand injury – which was eventually confirmed as a sagittal band rupture.

In January Tetley flirted with the idea of retirement following his frustrations at the end of 2022, however, after three months away from the sport recovering, Tetley’s ring return is tantalisingly close.

On Saturday June 24 the Bradford star will be fighting at The University of Bolton Stadium as he takes on Manchester’s Jake James (12-0-0), 28.

Like Tetley, the orthodox fighting James hasn’t fought since 2022 – when he got a points victory over Robin Zamora in December at the Bolton Whites Hotel. However, James will be fighting in Blackpool next Saturday.

Looking ahead to the prospect of his next fight, Tetley recently said to the T&A: “I know that I’m not passed it, I’ve still very much got it and it’s made me wake up to the reality of the situation. I didn’t show commitment in the lead up to my last fight, but I’ve now got a chance to put it right. It feels like I’ve been given a second chance to have a crack at this and fight away my demons, and that’s exactly what I’ll do. I’m more committed than ever to put my name amongst the best in the welterweight division again.”

Tickets for the June bout are priced at £40 for ‘standard’ while ringside tickets are priced at £70. To buy your tickets, contact Darren Tetley via social media (Instagram or Twitter) or head to https://www.vipboxing.co.uk/buy-tickets.
