BRADFORD darts ace Joe Cullen was not happy with his performance at the Dutch Darts Championship over the weekend.

He had his last-32 clash against Stephen Bunting in the palm of his hands, but threw away victory in Leeuwarden.

In a topsy-turvy clash, the Wyke native looked to have the game in the bag, at 5-4 up with three match darts in the first-to-six encounter.

But he missed all of them, allowing his opponent to level.

With the darts in an edgy deciding leg, Bunting always had just enough to hold Cullen off, and went through 6-5.

After the game, the Bradfordian took to Twitter to berate himself:

Bunting went on to reach the quarter-finals, with the tournament won by Cullen's good friend Dave Chisnall.

The St Helens native beat Luke Humphries 8-5 in the final, his second European Tour success of the year.

Six of the 13 European Tour events have been played so far, with Chisnall also winning the opening tournament, the Baltic Sea Darts Open, in Kiel, Germany.

Remarkably, he beat Humphries 8-5 in that final back in February too.
