WEST Bowling gained revenge on derby rivals Stanningley on Saturday in Division One of the National Conference League, just a week after losing to them at Horsfall.

Their game on Bradford soil finished 38-36 to the visitors, but there was far less work for the scoreboard operators this time around up in Pudsey.

Bowling came away with a 16-6 victory, with hooker Dan Halmshaw helping himself to a brace of tries.

Winger Owen Simpson also crossed the line for the away side, while Harry Williams landed two of his three conversion attempts.

Stanningley's only points came courtesy of Carl McGuigan's converted try.

All of the teams in Division One have now played seven times, with Bowling
top after having won six games.

They are two points clear of second-placed Oulton Raiders.

It was a tough weekend for West Bowling Academy in the NCL Alliance Cup though.

They were at home to Hunslet ARLFC, with the visitors romping to a 50-12 victory.

In the Yorkshire Men's League Trophy, Queensbury edged to 32-24 derby victory at Wyke.

Things were slightly more one-sided at Bradford Dudley Hill, who thumped hapless visitors Moldgreen 46-0.

Wibsey Warriors are also through, having thumped Methley Warriors 36-16.

But it was a bad day for Odsal Sedbergh, who lost 40-22 at home to Kirkburton Cougars.

In the YML Shield, Birkenshaw Blue Dogs bowed out with a 22-14 defeat away to Todmorden.

But Keighley Albion Academy gained revenge for their league defeat against West Craven Warriors the previous weekend, beating those same opponents 26-20 in the Shield.
