UNDERCLIFFE opener Oliver Hardaker blasted his side into the second round of the Gordon Rigg Priestley Cup with a stunning innings of 195 on Sunday afternoon.

His 101-ball innings contained 14 sixes and 17 fours as the East Ardsley bowlers were put to the sword.

Danish Hussain (51) joined Hardaker in an opening stand of 185, which was the foundation for their side’s score of 363-5 in 41 overs.

East Ardsley were set a DLS target of 355 from 39 overs and responded with 198 to lose by 156 runs.

Suraj Singh (59) and Dan McTiernan (56) made half centuries as their side were bowled out for 198, with Awais Khan taking 3-20.

The only other tie to achieve a result saw Division One leaders Cleckheaton defeat Pudsey Congs by 26 runs.

Cleckheaton made 192-4, with Yousaf Baber (62no), Waleed Akhtar (43) and James Stansfield (39no) were the main contributors.

Congs were set a revised target of 224 from 31 overs and finished on 197-9.

Overseas player Yohan Mendis (72), Sam Wisniewski (41 not out) and Callum Oliver (35) battled hard, but Cleckheaton spinner Andrew Deegan picked up 5-26 to see his side over the line.

The remaining three ties were badly disrupted by rain and will be replayed on the reserve date of Sunday, May 14.

Hanging Heaton were in trouble at 111-8 against Gomersal, Bankfoot were 115-1 at Farsley while Sandal, making their debut in the competition, were 130-6 against Methley.
