JOE Cullen had a mixed weekend in the PDC Players Championship in Wigan.

The Wyke thrower hit some form in event nine, reaching the last 16, but was dumped out early in event 10 the following day.

Eighth seed Cullen had a solid start in the first of the two tournaments, beating Frenchman Jacques Labre 6-4 in his opener.

He then managed to squeeze past Scotland's Cameron Menzies 6-5.

The Bradford man's best game of the weekend came in the last-32 of event nine, as he dismantled Belgium's Kim Huybrechts 6-2, averaging 98.11 in the process.

But he did not hit those heights against ninth-seeded German opponent Martin Schindler in the last-16, losing 6-3.

Krzysztof Ratajski won the tournament, crushing Chris Landman 8-1 in the final.

Cullen flopped in event 10, losing a poor game 6-1 to Dutchman Christian Kist, both players averaging under 85.

Kist went on to reach the last-16, but it was another Dutchman, Dirk van Duijvenbode, who claimed the title.

He faced Jose De Sousa in the final, and thumped him 8-3.
