JOE Cullen has had a mixed bag of results in the PDC Players Championship over the last fortnight, but he now has a date in his hometown to look forward to.

The Wyke thrower will be taking part in 'A Night at the Darts' down at Valley Parade on September 7.

The exhibition will see him joined by two of the sport's biggest names, Michael van Gerwen and Gerwyn Price, as well as female trailblazer Fallon Sherrock.

Tickets for the event at Bradford City's famous old stadium, which start at £33, can be bought via this link.

That event is still nearly six months away, and for now, Cullen is preparing for the second European Tour event of the season, the Interwetten European Darts Open in Leverkusen, Germany, which starts tomorrow and ends on Sunday.

He goes into that tournament off the back of two successive weekends of Players Championship action.

Events five and six were held in Barnsley, and Cullen was dumped out of the former in the first round, losing 6-3 to Cameron Menzies.

The Bradfordian put in a better showing in the latter, squeezing past Dutchman Danny van Trijp 6-5 in his opening game.

He then beat Czech thrower Adam Gawlas 6-4, before coming up short in the last-32.

Despite putting in his best performance of the tournament, he lost 6-4 to Ian White.

The Players Championship moved to Hildesheim in Germany for events seven and eight.

In the former, Cullen opened up with a seesaw 6-5 victory over Ricky Evans, before an ugly 6-3 win over Irishman Dylan Slevin.

Cullen averaged an impressive 95.11 in the last-32, but still lost 6-5 to Callan Rydz.

Event eight was over quickly for Cullen, as a poor display against Scottish opponent Andy Boulton in the last-128, where he averaged a measly 82.95, saw him beaten 6-3.
