GUISELEY have announced the signing of a former Real Madrid academy star.

Spanish Defender Alejandro Machado, 22, spent over six years with the La Liga side in their academy set up before moving to England to play for a number of clubs in the south of the country.

Machado, who is described on Real Madrid’s website as being “technically good, especially with his left foot”, dangerous in “offensive positions”, having a “good shot” and “effective in the passing game” made his debut for Guiseley at Marine on Saturday.

The defender, who has also played for South Park in the Isthmian South Central division, has been at Woodford Town in the Essex Senior League Premier Division this season.

Machado has made 28 appearances this campaign and has struck seven goals to help fire his former side to fourth in the league.
