SIR - Recent publications of the T&A have carried archive reports of the FA Cup matches played between Norwich City and Bradford City in 1976. I had slight difficulty in reading the archive stories but got there in the end.
I am a lifelong Ipswich Town Supporter (Tractor Boy), having relocated from East Anglia to Bradford several years ago now and your archive sports stories of these events brought a smile to my face in these sometimes dark times.
Local derbies in this neck of the woods would be Bradford vs Leeds etc. The fixtures between Ipswich and Norwich were affectionately known as the Old Farm Derby and fought over fierce encounters to establish the Pride of East Anglia.
Unfortunately, from an Ipswich point of view, it is now too many years to remember the last time my beloved Ipswich Town won a match against Norwich City and your stories of Bradford City's victory against Norwich City at Carrow Road was certainly well received.
The rivalry between Ipswich and Norwich is legendary in East Anglia but for me it's always been a friendly rivalry (sort of) even though I refrain from wearing anything green and yellow if I can avoid it!
Thanks again for the stories, you made me a very happy Tractor Boy.
