GUISELEY have announced the permanent signing of Bradford born forward Alfie Moulden.

The forward has signed from Weston-super- Mare, who he joined last season after gaining regular experience in senior football in the Devon area from the age of 16.

Born in Bradford Moulden was raised in the East Bowling area of the city and was educated at Bradford Academy.

He was in the Bradford City Academy from the age of six and coming up through that system was acquainted with his new teammates Callum Chippendale and Kwame Boateng as well as Lewis Hey.

The player moved with his parents to Devon at the age of 16 but has brothers and sisters in the Bradford area who will be supporting him in his new venture.

Moulden, who has business interests in two football golf venues in Devon and Cornwall, said: “I am looking forward to being back in the Bradford area and I am looking forward to getting started with Guiseley.

“I want to see us get into the play-offs and get promoted, that’s the plan. Weston bought me for about £5,000 and I was doing well there before I tore my groin. I got back to fitness and was loaned to West Tiverton Town where I scored four goals before Weston recalled me. I played three games for Weston and scored twice but then was not picked for a couple of months.”

He added: “I had had enough of not playing, at my age you want to be in the action. Weston have spent a lot of money on ex-Football League players making it hard to break through so it is best that I move on.”

Moulden gained his first experience in senior football in the 2017-18 season scoring eight goals in ten games for Langkey Town in the North Devon Premier Division.

He then moved to Boca Seniors scoring nine goals in 16 games prior to signing for South West Peninsular League East side Ilfracombe Town, featuring regularly for their team whilst dual registered with Southern League Division One South side Barnstaple Town, making six appearances for them

He continued to play regularly for Ilfracombe in the 2019-20 season whilst being dual registered with Southern League Division One side Bideford AFC.

His chance finally came at Step 4 when he joined Southern League Division One South side Willand Rovers ahead of the 2020-21season. He netted 12 goals in 24 games for the Devon club before signing for Weston-super-Mare in October 2021. During his time at Weston Moulden had a month’s loan at Tiverton.
