EFL League Two football club, Bradford City sign Adam Clayton, Doncaster Rovers midfielder, on a free transfer

Bradford City AFC. signed the Doncaster Rovers midfielder Adam Clayton on a free transfer, on a deal until the end of this season.

Throughout his football career, Adam Clayton signed his first professional contract with Manchester city in 2007, then joined Leeds United in 2010 on a three-year contact. With one year left of his contract with Leeds United, Clayton joined Huddersfield Town in 2012, but soon in 2014 Adam Clayton joined Middlesbrough, and played with them for six years until his leave for Birmingham City in 2020. Then in January 2022, he signed a 18-month contract with Doncaster Rovers.

At the beginning of the season when Clayton joined Doncaster Rovers, he was made captain of the team by manager Gary McSheffery and played every minute of each match, until new coach Danny Schofield's first match. Adam played four games on the bench, and one suspended, he then made three starts in December.

According to the official Bradford City website, Adam Clayton explained his thoughts of the Saturday match against Carlisle, "Only recently Doncaster beat them, so hopefully we can do the same".

He also described his thoughts of playing with the Bradford City team and how he hopes to make a change with his arrival, " I want to bring experience, know-how and energy to this squad. A new face and voice can keep the standards going".

"I will play my game to the best of my ability, but i just want to help the team and succeed here. It is what you are in business for, and i am here to do the same".

"I am nowhere near the end of my time in the game. I am enjoying my football and I cannot wait to show what I am capable of here".

Clayton's passionate words, gives City fans hope in him to help strengthen their midfield even more. He also shares his thoughts of the University of Bradford stadium, "I have good memories of this stadium. I have played here a few times, but also experienced it in the stands".

"It is a fantastic ground and when it gets going it it one of the best. I just want to go out there and experience that for Bradford City".
