Wayne Godwin reckons he'll be returning to face former club Castleford in the best pack he's ever played with - and it'll be needed.

Bradford head to The Jungle on Sunday looking to complete a double over Super League's cellar dwellers and buoyed by one of their most confident displays of the campaign.

The rampant Bulls forwards, with Godwin pulling the strings at hooker, destroyed Catalans' huge and highly-respected six in the Challenge Cup last weekend.

With Jamie Langley showing international form and Godwin's former Cas team-mate Andy Lynch at his imperious best, Bradford were just too dominant.

Godwin, who has also served at Wigan and Hull, believes the current crop of Bulls forwards are as hot as they come.

"As a hooker, I've played with some great packs but as a whole there's not many better than this one," he said.

"I've played before with Langers at England and Lynchy, of course. Everyone knows about Sam (Burgess) and what he's like. To be a Great Britain international at his age is amazing and he's a real talent as well as a top bloke.

"But then we've got the experience of players like Glenn Morrison, Tez (Newton) and Deacs - so many leaders - and it's a great club here because of the strength in depth.

"I think that's just starting to show now: we've got big Joe Vagana coming back and Chris Feather and there's so much competition for spots, which I've always believed is vital.

"Throw in our second rows like Chris Nero, Simon Finnigan - who's playing really well - and David Solomona and when those big props are taking it forward it really helps us hookers to play off the back of it all."

Godwin knows his side must be at their best to overcome Cas on Sunday afternoon, despite their opponents' lowly position.

He came through the Tigers Academy, going on to make 64 appearances before leaving for Wigan when they suffered relegation in 2004.

Godwin has played there just once since with the Warriors two years ago and is relishing another return.

However, he appreciates the special buzz created by the claustrophobic Wheldon Road stadium and the impact it can have on oppositions.

He said: "Cas at Cas? I know how they always try and make it a fortress down there. When you play at The Jungle the crowd is really close on top of you and there's an amazing atmosphere.

"The fans really turn out in force and they've already beaten Leeds and St Helens - two massive clubs - there this season.

"Don't get me wrong, Cas are up for every game, but Bradford will be another scalp they'll have targeted - especially after that disappointing defeat against Wakefield at the Millennium Stadium.

"They've had a week off since that and will be desperate to get back out there and make up for it."

Godwin today announced he has signed a fresh three-year deal at his new abode of Bradford, although Castleford were believed to be chasing his signature.

"They are my home-town club and I've still got a lot of friends who work there and live around Cas," he said.

"I only live about a mile from the ground myself, they were my first Super League club and played a big part in my rugby league development.

"It's a good family club but it's just not right for me now. I'm happy where I am and have settled really well with Bradford. I'm enjoying not only playing here but going in to training every day and that makes life better on the outside of rugby too.

"I know I've got to keep working hard with the Bulls but I'm ambitious and I won't be letting anyone down after signing this deal. It's an exciting time."
