BINGLEY Congs ended up winning the Mewies Solicitors Craven League Division One title by 48 points after defeating Denholme by 58 runs on the final day.

George Hicks (30) added 73 for the second wicket with Johandre Barnard (42) in Congs’ 196. Denholme replied with 138.

Hepworth & Idle, who finished third, made short work of Gargrave at Westfield Lane, dismissing them for 79.

Wilsden were the latest victims of Sutton, whose five wins in their last seven matches enabled them to beat the drop. The visitors could only score 126, with Hasnat Bukhari (25) and Bryn Pacey (22) topping 20. Sutton passed that score without losing a wicket.

Haworth Road Meths mounted a second-half-of-the-season recovery to again avoid the drop. They dismissed already-relegated Ingrow for just 46. Mansha Khan then scored an unbeaten 20 as Meths won by nine wickets in 9.1 overs, with Denholme going down alongside Ingrow.

Eldwick & Gilstead claimed the runners-up spot behind Riddlesden to be promoted from Division Two. They scored 253-9 against Skipton CI, with three players being out in the sixties. CI were then dismissed for 129.

However, E&G only went up because Silsden lost a thrilling derby by one wicket against Bradley.

Bradford & Bingley III have been demoted after a 26-run defeat at Glusburn, who made 173, despite Farhan Khalid (4-41) and Shahbaz Ahmed (3-18).

Bingley Congs II were on the receiving end at champions Riddlesden but enjoyed themselves in picking up 10 bonus points.

Riddlesden made 339-9, with Ryan Baines taking 4-64 in nine eventful overs. He then hit 35 in Congs’ reply of 235-9, Tony Teale scoring 45, Wajid Mahmood 37 and Chris Hemsley 24.

Hepworth & Idle II have gained promotion from Division Three after an emphatic last-day victory.

They racked up 313-5, which was in no small measure due to an unbroken stand of 143 between Chris Hawksworth (105no) and skipper Mikey Newell (97no).

Only two bowlers were then needed as Gargrave were rolled over for 75 in 17.5 overs.

Meanwhile, Bingley Congs III won the Division Four championship as Glusburn II conceded to them, snuffing out the hopes of Keighley III, who have also been promoted.
