WEST Bowling secured fifth place in Division One of the National Conference League, and will now visit Wigan St Patricks in the play-offs.

Ryan Hunkin's side won 26-18 at Myton Warriors despite star winger Lewis Taylor going off with a nasty-looking arm injury, a result which could have put them third.

And that was almost the case, as Ince Rose Bridge, who came third, and St Patricks, who ended up fourth, almost slipped up.

But both sides held their nerve, Ince Rose winning 22-18 at Featherstone Lions and St Patricks impressively edging out Hull Dockers 26-22.

With Kells and the Dockers already promoted automatically to the Premier Division, the play-off semi-final line up has been decided.

As already mentioned, West Bowling visit St Patricks, while Ince Rose host sixth-placed Skirlaugh.

Relegated Bradford Dudley Hill ended their disastrous season in Division Two with another defeat, which also mathematically confirmed that they would finish rock-bottom.

But Dudley Hill cannot be accused of throwing in the towel, and they put in a brave performace at champions Heworth, before eventually going down 30-14.

Drighlington finished fourth-bottom of Division Three, ending their campaign on the wrong end of a thriller at lowly Hensingham, losing 35-28.

In the Yorkshire Men's League, lowly Queensbury were thumped 28-0 at Siddal Academy.

In Division Two, Wibsey Warriors won it late on, beating Odsal Sedbergh 26-18 in an exciting encounter.

Sedge's scorers were Connor Pearson and Adam Cash, who marked turning 18 this week with a brace of tries to take his tally to 11 for his first full season in open age rugby.

Defeat means Sedge have to beat undefeated league leaders Newsome Panthers tonight to stay in with a chance of a play-off spot.

Division Three champions Keighley Albion had a walkover win over Heworth's reserves, while Wyke lost an epic encounter 34-30 at Cutsyke Raiders.

Wyke A had a better result in Division 7B, with a walkover win at Bramley Buffaloes A, while Birkenshaw Blue Dogs edged out Brighouse Rangers A 20-16.
