BINGLEY Congs need just eight more points to be crowned Craven League Division One champions.

Congs, who have applied to join the Aire-Wharfe League for next season, lead second-placed Oakworth by 33 points with two matches remaining.

The Beckfoot Laners made short work of Ingrow, who have now been relegated, defeating them by eight wickets at Hainworth Lane.

The home side won the toss but could only make 117 as pace bowlers Matty Roberts (5-46) and Harry Greenhalgh (3-42) again ruled the roost.

Keeper George Hicks then saw Congs to victory with 55 not out, adding 66 for the second wicket with Chris Dibb (40), and victory was achieved inside 17 overs.

Sam Mitchell gave one of the performances of the day.

The Wilsden skipper firstly scored 103 in their 256 at Barrowford and then took 4-75 as the Lancastrians were dismissed for 174.

Chris Mitchell (28), Chris Longley (51) and Joe Allatt (42) also contributed to the visitors’ total.

Hepworth & Idle have climbed a place to fourth after collecting maximum points against Denholme, who are in danger of the drop.

Jonathan Robinson (4-35), Jonny Thompson (3-36) and Harry Pinkney (3-46) took all the wickets as the visitors were dismissed for 153, and opener Nigel Poustie then guided the Westfield Laners to a six-wicket triumph.

He made 64 not out, and put on 48 for the fourth wicket with Thompson (33) after they were 31-3 and 77 unbroken for the fifth wicket with Jamie Topham (42no).

Haworth Road Meths are just 12 points from safety after becoming the latest victims of resurgent Sutton at Baildon Bottom.

Meths, sent in, could only make 154, despite being given a solid platform by openers Chris Griggs (27) and Paul Rodwell (28), who added 48, Naseeb Ali (51) and Goher Ayoub (16) being the only others to reach double figures.

Sutton were 21-3 but won by four wickets after opener Sam Solley made 82 not out.

In Division Two, Eldwick & Gilstead are in the mix for the other promotion place behind champions Riddlesden.

They dismissed hosts Glusburn for 144, with skipper Arnie Raistrick taking 3-45 and Matthew Sharp 4-32.

E&G, now third, eight points behind Silsden, were 118-7 in reply but Pat Carberry (22no) and Raistrick (16no) saw them to victory with an unbroken stand of 32 after Sharp had made 40, Mihir Dighe 17 and Ajeet Singh 21.

Bingley Congs II continued their rise with an eight-wicket victory over basement boys Airedale at Beckfoot Lane.

Airedale were 47-6 but totalled 114 as Towhid Ali took 3-17 and Safraz Mahmood 3-10, while Chris Hemsley ensured that there were no dramas after tea.

The experienced batter made 68 not out off 101 balls, adding 70 for the second wicket with Wajid Mahmood (26) as Congs triumphed in 30 overs.

Bradford & Bingley III, who are second from bottom, went down by seven wickets at Riddlesden, making only 100 after winning the toss.

Irfan Ul Haque top-scored with 26, while Ayaz Butt (14), Abdullah Hussain (10) and Eshaan Lodhi (10) were the only other players to make double figures.

Riddlesden won by seven wickets inside 15 overs.

In Division Three, second-placed Hepworth & Idle II gained a maximum 20 points when Denholme II gave them a walkover.

Wilsden II remain ninth after defeating bottom-of-the-table Long Lee II by seven wickets.

Mudassar Riaz (5-15) and Luke Stableford (2-3) were a potent duo as Long Lee were castled for 55, and then Nigel Butterfield (23no) helped Wilsden to a seven-wicket victory inside 20 overs, aided by Riaz (16) and Stableford (10no).

In Division Four, Bingley Congs III are keeping pace with joint-leaders Keighley III.

Congs made 232-8 against Glusburn II, the highlights of which were half-centuries for Shahid Mahmood (66) and Paul Sansom (58), with Andrew Copping (27) and Andrew Greenwood (29) chipping in.

Rayan Mahmood (3-19) and Greenwood (2-19) then helped to dismiss Glusburn for 68 in the 20th over.

Keighley, like Congs on 308 points, had an equally comfortable time against Hepworth & Idle III, making 252-8, despite Zach Holland (4-31) and Daniel Moore (3-40) doing a good job with the ball.

The Westfield Laners replied with just 114, Bradley Elliott (25) continuing his solid season, while Tom Sugden made 23 and Wazeer Ahmed scored 11.
