IT has been another busy week on the transfer front , with clubs around the district continuing to strengthen ahead of the new season

First up is Silsden, who have made a statement signing in the form of Alex Laird.

The quick and powerful centre half joins the club from Eccleshill after he played a key role for them last year.

On the signing, Silsden boss Matt Cavanagh said: “Alex is a player I admired last season when I had the opportunity to watch him play. He’s got all the attributes you want from a central defender and he will bring great experience to the side”

“I’m sure he will become a fans favourite when they see him play.”

Albion Sports continue to be busy in the market and they have recruited 27 year-old, Adam Williams.

Williams is an exciting, skilful and technical attacking midfielder, who has an eye for goal and he he has hit the ground running since arriving at Albion.

Elsewhere, Ky Marley has returned to Steeton. Marley joined the club at the end of last season, and he will remain at Marley for the forthcoming campaign.

He will be joined by George Mwale, who has joined the club from Eccleshill United.

Steeton have since thanked Pro Elite Academy for their help with these deals.

Chris Holland is very busy with recruiting for his Thackley Reserves squad too, with the signing of striker George Best.

In other news, Due to Whitley Bay pulling out of the match with Liversedge on Saturday 16 July, the club are now looking for an away game on that date.

The club are also still looking for a match on Saturday 6 August.
