WEST BOWLING couldn’t cause an upset at league leaders Hull Dockers last Thursday as they fell to a 22-8 defeat on the road.

The hosts ran in four tries, Heil, Agar, Birch and Holmes the scorers, with Heald being the solidarity scorer for the visitors.

West Bowling now prepare to face off with Featherstone Lions this Saturday at home, a game which could hand the hosts a perfect opportunity to bounce back in Division One of the National Conference League.

In the Premier Division of the NCL, Thornhill Trojans suffered a heavy defeat at home to Rochdale Mayfield.

Tries from Tebb and Gledhill were not enough for the Trojans as the visitors cruised to a 40-10 victory.

In Division Two, Bradford Dudley Hill suffered their eleventh defeat of the campaign.

This time it was a bruising one at a rampant and promotion chasing Clock Face Miners, the final result finishing at 52-0 to the home side.

Dudley Hill face an even tougher test this weekend at home to Crosfields (2:30 pm).

Elsewhere, Queensbury suffered their eighth defeat on the bounce as nearby neighbours Brighouse Rangers condemned them to a 22-8 defeat on Friday evening.

It was the second time in which the two sides faced off this season, Brighouse running out 22-18 victors on that occasion too.

Queensbury now have a fortnight off before returning to Yorkshire Men’s League (Premier Division) action at home to Nottingham Outlaws on Saturday July 9.

Other notable results in the top division were Siddal’s 30-28 victory at home to Westgate Common and Doncaster Toll Bar’s 24-0 thrashing of Fryston Warriors.
