DAN Hodgson produced a superb innings of 107 as holders New Farnley booked their place in the semi-finals of the Solly Sports Heavy Woollen Cup with a 96-run win over Bradford & Bingley at Wagon Lane.

His innings contained three sixes and nine four, and along with contributions from skipper Lee Goddard (56), Adam Waite (34) and Steve Bullen (34), New Farnley were able to post a challenging score of 285-6.

The Premier Division leaders looked to be heading for a comfortable win when they reduced Bradford & Bingley to 76-8, but their young trio of Jack Luxton (61no), Lewis Brown (29) and Reece Cockshott (21) added 113 runs for the last two wickets, much to the delight of their club’s supporters.

Their spirited efforts frustrated New Farnley but could not prevent them from getting over the line.

Kesar Ahmed impressed with 7-33 as Farsley bowled out Undercliffe for 80 to secure a 186-run win and a place in the semi-finals of the Solly Sports Crowther Cup where they will be at home to either Barnsley Woolley Miners or Woodlands.

Andrew Sims (75), Ben Maddison (48) and Tom Moss (38) helped Farsley to make 266-9 despite the efforts of Absar Hussain (4-44).

Skipper Brad Schmulian hit his second century in this season’s ECB National Clubs Championship as Woodlands clinched their place in the last 16 with a 111-run win over the Yorkshire Cricket Southern Premier League champions Appleby Frodingham.

The talented Kiwi scored 109 as the Gordon Rigg Bradford Premier League champions made 323-8 in their 40 overs after opting to bat first.

Schmulian, who hit two sixes and 17 fours, was joined in a second wicket stand of 144 by Tim Jackson (58), before Tom Clee (51) and Liam Collins (49) increased the pressure on a bowling attack in which Jordan Neill took 3-61.

Appleby Frodingham, who lost by three wickets to Woodlands in last year’s Yorkshire Premier League Play-Off semi-finals, were bowled out for 212.
