NEW players are wanted to sign up for a new women-only Bradford-based ice-hockey team.

Ladies Ice Wolves are looking for new players to join their squad ahead of starting a league campaign this September.

The team was set up in April this year and has a squad of around 15 players but want more to join them to boost their numbers.

They are looking for women players of all ages and abilities to sign up.

Ladies Ice Wolves, who are associated with Bradford Ice Wolves, will be in training this summer before playing matches across the UK.

The ladies’ team who are coached by Andy Bourke, who is assisted by Matthew Gatenby and Anne-Marie Devine.

The club’s training sessions are held at Bradford Ice Rink, Little Horton Lane, Bradford, every Sunday from 9pm to 10.30pm.

Ladies Ice Wolves are looking for players who are aged 18 and over to join them. They currently have players whose age ranges from late teens to their 40s. They want a woman netminder to replace their current temporary male player.

Meanwhile, Bradford Ice Wolves will host the Bone Idle Tournament in the city this weekend.

Blackburn Buccaneers will be back in Bradford aiming to defend their title.

Sheffield Mavericks, IHC Sheffield Ice Tigers and Streatham Nightwolves will join Bradford Ice Wolves in taking part in the event.

The competition will be held at Bradford Ice Arena on Saturday, May 28 from 4pm to 10.30pm and between 5pm and 10.30pm the following day.
