NEW Farnley ended Methley’s unbeaten start to the season and went joint top of the Bradford Premier League Premier Division on net run rate with a seven-wicket win over Methley.

Methley Alex Cree stood firm as wickets fell round him before being the ninth man out for 45. Methley’s total of 96 was their lowest of the season and even with skipper Tom Chippendale taking 3-34 they could not prevent a comfortable New Farnley win.

Skipper Nick Connolly hit his second league century of the season as Ossett moved level on points with leaders New Farnley in the Premier Division with a six-wicket win over Bankfoot in the battle of the promoted sides.

Connolly finished 105 not out after hitting 14 fours and was supported by James Keen (45no) as Bankfoot’s total of 246 was passed with 14 balls to spare.

Hanging Heaton (270-7) skipper Ben Kohler-Cadmore made 100 not out as he guided his side to their first win and lifted them out of the bottom two.

Kohler-Cadmore struck six sixes and 10 fours against Bradford & Bingley (254-6) and was supported by Callum Geldart (70) as the visitors made 270-7 at Wagon Lane in their 16-run win.

Tim Jackson made an unbeaten 66 and Muhammad Bilal blasted 53 from 21 balls as champions Woodlands (230-6) defeated Cleckheaton (228-8) by four wickets.

Cleckheaton looked to have given themselves a chance when they posted 228-8. Yousaf Baber (72) Kris Ward (66) and Richard Pyrah (32). Bilal, who had a fine match, took 4-49 as Woodlands moved into third place.

Mark Robertshaw hit his first century of the season as Pudsey St Lawrence (223-6) defeated Batley (112) by 111 runs to record their fourth victory of the season.

Townville (263-8) recorded their third win in a row when they held on for a three-run triumph over Farsley.

Farsley made a bold attempt to chase down the Townville score. Jack Timby (41), Chris Beech (38), Jonathan Reed (38), William Mears (37no) and Joe Pocklington (30) led the way, but Jack Hughes made sure the home side prevailed with 5-79.

Meanwhile in Division One, Jer Lane became the first side to reach 100 points this season as they maintained their 100 per cent start with a 97-run win over an East Ardsley side that was promoted with them from Division Two and are still searching for their first win.

Ryan Heptinstall scrambled a single from the final ball of the game as Pudsey Congs secured a thrilling one-run which brought Carlton’s (169-9) unbeaten start to an end.

South African Byron Boshoff showed just why Undercliffe were so keen to sign him by making 106 not out as they made 300-4 on their way to a 59-run win over Morley.

Morley, who conceded 300 for the third time this season, made 241-6 thanks to 80not out from Christian Silkstone.

Kevin McDermott hit his second century of the season as Baildon (297-5) recorded a 31-run win over East Bierley (266).

The opener led the way with five sixes and 14 fours as his side scored 297-5.

Juned Delair (6-40) and Dave McCallum (3-42) helped Birstall bowl out Gomersal for 177 to complete a 19-run win.

Billy Whitford (5-57) and Australian Noah McFadyen (3-40) did much of the work as Keighley (260-7) bowled out their bottom-of-the-table Wrenthorpe rivals for 161 to complete a 99-run victory.
