BRADFORD (Park Avenue) have announced that they have reached an agreement with Mitch Lund to extend his contract with the club until the summer of 2023.

Lund has been a regular in defence this season, and has been a key player since signing back in 2019.

With him now clear of a recent injury niggle, Avenue are delighted that he has put pen to paper.

On the news, Lund said: “I’m overjoyed to be staying here for another season.

“I have a great relationship with the lads, and enjoy playing for Bows (manager Mark Bower) and Bosh (assistant Danny Boshell).”

Lund becomes Avenue’s latest signing for next season, joining Sam Fielding, Harrison Hopper and Dylan Mottley-Henry in committing to the club going forward, as they look to build a strong squad for the 2022/23 season.

Avenue boss Mark Bower is thrilled to have Lund on board again for another year.

Speaking ahead of the Easter weekend fixtures against Boston United and Guiseley, he said: “We’re very pleased to be keeping Mitch at the club.

“With the position we’ve got ourselves to in the league (mid-table security), we can look at players and their futures here with more certainty.

“Lundy’s had a few injuries this season, but we’re hoping we can bed him back in, let him get a good run of games now and some consistency.

“The aim is to get Mitch back up the football pyramid and he’s certainly got the tools and ability to do just that.

“We’re hoping to get him back on the pitch now and see how he goes until the end of the season, but really it’s next season where we’re looking for him to properly kick on.

“He’s not been out for too long with this latest setback, and he has been on the bench for the last few matches.

“I’m sure we’ll see him get some time out on the pitch this weekend, with us having the two games to play.”
