AS FAR as making an impact on your debut goes, it doesn't get much better than what happened to Matt Fisher in Barbados yesterday.

The Yorkshire seamer, making his England debut in the Second Test against the West Indies, took the wicket of John Campbell with his second ball.

Campbell drove his first delivery for four, but Fisher, a York native, didn't panic, and found Campbell's outside edge next up.

Wicketkeeper Ben Foakes made the catch, and opening bowler Fisher and his team-mates celebrated wildly.

It was England's only wicket, as the Windies closed day two of the Test match on 71-1. Fisher currently sits with figures of 1-18 from five overs.

The tourists had earlier posted a mammoth 507-9 declared, and as is so often the case, England captain and Yorkshire stalwart Joe Root sparkled.

Root had already hit 119 not out on day one, and he increased his overnight total to 153 before being trapped lbw by Kemar Roach.

That left England on 373-4, and while Bradfordian Jonny Bairstow might have been a little disappointed to only score 20 on a good surface coming in next, fellow big-hitter Ben Stokes bludgeoned 120 at nearly a run a ball to help the tourists rack up over 500.
