A VITAL derby is taking place tonight between Eccleshill United and Albion Sports in the NCEL Premier Division, and Bantams fans can get in on the action for a cheaper price.

The game, which will be at Eccleshill's Mitton Group Stadium, is half-price for City's season ticket holders, meaning adults can come and watch for just £3.

Eccleshill are looking to get their promotion charge back on track after a 4-1 home defeat to Winterton Rangers on Saturday, while Albion need a win, as they sit just two points above the relegation zone.

Albion have been boosted though with the registrations of Zak Khan and Thomas Ponter to their squad over the last week.

Silsden are away from home in the same division tonight, taking on Sherwood Colliery.

Thackley are without a game, but there is plenty going on at the club still.

They saw Morgan McCusker depart for struggling FC Humber United in the league below, but they have appointed Chris Holland to join Pat McGuire's coaching team.

And away from the pitch, they have had to make a late substitution.

Preston North End and York City legend Jon Parkin is no longer able to attend the Dennyboys' "An Evening With..." event on March 26.

Fortunately, Thackley have been able to source a replacement quickly for the event.

Instead of Parkin, those in attendance on March 26 will now be graced with the presence of former Nottingham Forest and Middlesbrough goalkeeper Mark Crossley.

Crossley was arguably most famous for his prowess at penalties.

He repelled Gary Lineker's effort from 12 yards in the 1991 FA Cup final, only the second penalty save in the showpiece's history at the time.

And Crossley is also responsible for the only missed penalty in Matt Le Tissier's career.
