BRADFORD (Park Avenue) have suffered an agonising late call off of their FA Trophy clash at home to big rivals FC Halifax Town.

But unlike their neighbours City, and scores of other clubs around the country, Covid-19 was not the issue.

Instead, heavy fog that has enveloped much of the country today made for extremely poor visibility down at Horsfall Stadium.

And at around 1:30pm, just 90 minutes before kick off was scheduled, the referee decided the game could not go ahead because of that.

It is a real blow for Avenue, who were hoping for a big crowd in to boost the club's finances in their last home game before Christmas, as well as reaching the next round and getting one over on their local rivals.

Avenue have said they will let fans know as soon as possible when the re-arranged fixture is taking place.
