TOM Kohler-Cadmore posted the highest ever score in the history of the T10 League yesterday afternoon - a blistering 96 off 39 balls.

Playing for Deccan Gladiators, the Yorkshire opener blasted 12 fours and five sixes and broke the previous record of 91 held by Australian Chris Lynn.

Ironically the pair played together in the Hundred for Northern Superchargers earlier this summer.

Lynn clobbered his 91 while playing for Maratha Arabians in November 2019.

The Abu Dhabi T10 League is into its fifth season at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium.

Not only did record-breaking Kohler-Cadmore put on a brutal display of power hitting in a landslide victory against the Bangla Tigers, he dwarfed the efforts of opening partner Andre Russell in doing so.

The fearsome West Indian, 26 not out off 18 balls, was a happy onlooker from the other end as the 27-year-old Yorkshire star returned the main contribution in a total of 140-1.

The pair shared 128 in 9.3 overs, a stand ended when Kohler-Cadmore tried to reach a hundred and was caught at mid-off.

It was also the second highest ever partnership in the competition’s history.

Kohler-Cadmore said of his achievement: “It’s obviously nice, but the main thing for us is the team - it’s a big game for us.”

“You’ve just got to go out there and swing,” continued the man who had previously scored just 110 runs in nine innings through the competition.

“I’m grateful to all the coaches for backing me. I could have easily been left out through my recent performances.

“It’s nice to repay that.

“I had a fair amount of luck in the innings. I plinked the ball in different areas and got dropped.”

Deccan have won seven of their 10 group games and sit top of the table ahead of today’s final round of group fixtures.

The knockout stages and the final take place tomorrow and Saturday and can be watched on FreeSports UK.
