BOLTON Villas Cricket Club have installed a defibrillator at their ground in Idle.
The Airedale and Wharfedale Senior Cricket League club’s president and cricket secretary Martin Molyneux said: "This (the installation) is something I have campaigned for over quite a long period of time and, thanks to defibmachines.co.uk, we have installed one
“Our league are keen for as many clubs as possible to install them and we were only too glad to comply.”
Local councillor Vanda Greenwood advised the club about registering the device.
Bolton Villas, whose ground is on All Alone Road and are on the lookout for new players, have, like many clubs, had a difficult couple of years.
However, they can now see light at the end of the tunnel, and by the start of next season the shower area, toilets and umpires’ changing room will have been completely refurbished thanks to a Sport England Grant.
This project has been successfully managed by club stalwart Martin Binns.
