ALBION Sports are having a nightmare time of things in the NCEL Premier Division, sitting third-bottom and without a league win since mid-September.

And it seems that sadly, enough is enough.

This morning, the Bradford club announced that joint-managers Ishy Hussain and Danny Brown have left the club by mutual consent.

They may still have been in a job if Saturday had gone their way, but 4-3 up with two minutes to go at home to Goole, Albion conceded twice at the last to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Hussain and Brown both played for Albion when they were younger, with Hussain returning to the club last summer to become joint-manager alongside Pav Singh.

When Singh left in December 2020 to become Jonathan Rimmington's assistant at Liversedge, Brown stepped up from his role as player welfare & recruitment officer to run the team alongside Hussain.

Not long after the pair linked up, the Covid pandemic put an end to the 2020/21 season, but this term has been a struggle, with Albion picking up just 13 points from their opening 18 league games.

They are still in the NCEL League Cup however, but their scheduled third round opponents, Hemsworth Miners Welfare, were booted out of the competition this morning, after being found guilty of fielding an ineligible player in their 2-1 win over Bottesford Town in round two.

As a result, Bottesford have been reinstated, and it is they who will travel to Albion for that cup clash instead.
