BANKFOOT Cricket Club have announced the passing of one of their long time life members Bob Leadbeater, who died earlier this month.

Leadbeater was a player at Bankfoot from the late 1960s, before becoming their groundsman, bar steward, committee member and junior coach from the mid 1970s for over 30 years.

He only stopped when illness meant he had to retire from his tireless work with the club.

He still visited the club whenever possible to support the cricket and was a very popular member, as well as being very well known to many Bradford League supporters down the years.

He will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him.

His funeral will be at Dewsbury Crematorium on Wednesday, September 22 at 10.30am, with a gathering at Bankfoot CC afterwards to celebrate his life.
