A FORMER Bradford City mascot has appeared on national radio as part of a quiz.
Life-long Bantams’ fan Lenny Berry, who has played the bowler hat-wearing mascot City Gent for almost 20 years until 2013, took part in the Mascot for What? Game on Radio 1 today.
Breakfast show host Greg James and TV football pundit Alex Scott asked Lenny a series of questions to work out the team he was mascot for.
Some of the questions the presenters asked him included what motorway was nearest the club’s stadium, what was the area’s favourite local dish and whether the team finished in the top five of the Premier League this season.
It was Greg who guessed Lenny was mascot for the Bantams and said his costume made Lenny sound like the Monopoly man.
Lenny now looks different to the build he had during his mascot days because he lost weight for health reasons after being diagnosed with diabetes in 2006.
