THE Northern Counties East League have confirmed a promotion and relegation shake up, with play-offs now set to be introduced between divisions.

The top team in the NCEL Premier Division (or any Step 5 league) will go up automatically, but second place will play a one-leg play off at a team who finishes third or fourth bottom in a Step 4 league.

This will affect Bradford teams like Albion Sports, Thackley and Eccleshill United, while Brighouse or Liversedge could be coming back down the other way if they have a bad season.

Two teams will be relegated from each Step 5 league.

At Step 6, so for the likes of Campion and Steeton, two teams will be promoted per division.

Top will go up automatically, while there will be a four-team play off to decide the other successful side.

Three teams are liable to relegation from each Step 6 league, though it will depend on how many are eligible to go up from the respective feeder leagues at Step 7.

Things will remain the same for Avenue and Guiseley in the National League North. Top will go up automatically, while second to seventh will be involved in play-offs to decide the other promotion spot.

Three teams will be relegated per division.
