WEST bowling ARLFC would like to invite people to the 2nd annual Lee Hunter memorial event on Saturday May 29 at the Horsfall stadium at 12.45.

Lee was a much-loved player at West Bowling who sadly lost his life at the age of 44 to a heart attack, and

in memory of Lee’s life, his friends and former teammates are holding a charity rugby league game to help raise money for the British heart foundation, a charity close to lee’s family.

The day will consist of a whole host of activities and entertainment.

Starting off the Memorial Day rugby spectacle, will be West Bowling’s U7 side, who kick off the day with a 9:30 fixture.

All the sides will take on different teams from across the area.

They will be followed up by the U8’s, U11 and 13 Girls, U13’s boys, the over 40’s v under 40’s, and finally the showpiece, as West Bowling take on local rivals Bradford Dudley Hill.

Sadly, after his passing, it was Lee’s former teammates and friends who decided to hold this event, and in doing so, they’re holding their second annual event.

And the charity game will see West Bowling’s under 40s take to the field against the more experienced teammates (over 40s).

Alongside the games there will be a raffle and an auction of rugby league shirts to help raise money for the charity. Throughout the game there will be a BBQ, beverage tents and face painting, Bouncy castle ice cream van, games, and stalls, and after the games West Bowling will have a DJ entertaining for the evening,

The Bradford Bulls’s Luva Bulls will also be attending for pre match and half-time entertainment.

Anyone who would like any more information please feel free to contact the club.

The final showpiece will see West Bowling host Bradford Dudley Hill, with the rivalry set to be resumed.

The two sides began the campaign last weekend in style, both earning impressive and convincing victories, to set the season’s tone.
