JERMAINE Springer suffered his third career defeat on Saturday night, after his fight was stopped in round five against Shakan Pitters.

The Bradford boxer went into the fight as the underdog, and Pitters prevailed, although Springer gave a good account of himself.

A TKO drew the fight to a close, a sharp right hand to the face, swiftly followed by a couple of body shots, as Springer found himself up against the ropes.

500 fans watched on for the first time at a British boxing event, since lockdown restrictions were eased.

And the defeat for Springer, pushes his record back to 7-3-0, while Pitters moves on to 15-1-0.
