BRIGHOUSE Town and Golcar United were in action on Monday and Tuesday night respectively, as they hosted Penistone Church and Liversedge in the Yorkshire Trophy.
Fans were able to return for the games too, making the occasions all the more glorious.
Brighouse beat Penistone 1-0 in Group A with a goal from Javelle Clarke in the 24th minute.
Brighouse went into half-time with that slender advantage and in that second half, they produced a defensive masterclass, as they nullified their opposition and never looked in danger of conceding.
Penistone did not create enough clear cut chances while Brighouse should probably have taken theirs to seal a more comfortable win.
The game was played in front of 417 fans as part of the lockdown being eased in England.
Elsewhere, Golcar and Liversedge played out a four-goal thriller in front of 575 fans in Group B.
All the goals that were scored came within a 15 minute period of play just before half-time.
Alfie Raw and John Cyrus scored for Liversedge to put them two goals up, before Buddy Cox scored a brace to bring Golcar level at 2-2, which is how the score stayed.
