THACKLEY AFC have announced their first set of pre-season fixtures, ahead of the upcoming campaign.

Fixtures have been organised against Steeton AFC, Bury AFC, Harrogate Railway and Yorkshire Amateurs.

First of all Thackley AFC will face Steeton AFC on Tuesday 6 July (7.45pm KO), in what will be the Club's first visit to Steeton AFC's new Marley Stadium. Steeton AFC were 7th in the North West Counties Football League ("NWCFL") First Division at the time last season was curtailed. Roy Mason will be leading the Chevrons in his 15th pre-season campaign ahead of the new season.

Next up is another NWCFL First Division side in Bury AFC. Bury AFC finished the curtailed season top of the division, and will be known to Thackley AFC supporters as the well supported fan-owned team which was formed following the expulsion of Bury FC from the Football League. Bury AFC will be welcomed to the Thank You Key Workers Stadium, Dennyfield, on Saturday 10 July (3pm KO).

The following Saturday the Dennyboys will travel to Harrogate Railway Athletic (Saturday 17 July - 3pm KO). The Rail are currently in the Northern Counties East Football League ("NCEL") and matches between the two teams are always a competitive one with the local derby feel.

On Tuesday 20 July 2021 (7.45pm KO) we will be hosting Yorkshire Amateurs, who supporters are well aware of from our matches in the NCEL Premier Division in the past few season. The Ammas have applied for promotion to Step 4 of the National Pyramid and are likely to be a Northern Premier League team when the fixture is played. The two teams met in a behind closed door friendly at the end of April 2021 in a good game for both sides which ended in a 1-1 draw.

Further announcements regarding pre-season will be made in due course, including arrangements for ticketing. Fan attendance is currently permitted under current government guidance, and we hope to be able to welcome fans at the time these fixtures are played.
