SHEILA Terry did brilliantly for West Bradford Golf Club last month, winning the Captain's Cup & Monthly Stableford on April 20 with an outstanding score of 41.
It was the first individual competition of the new season, which got underway with some cracking scores.
Those low scores were not too surprising after the many course improvements instigated by new head greenkeeper Nigel Graham and his team have left it looking fabulous.
There is a remarkable difference in scoring already and Terry came in with a wonderful 41 points to win the Captain's Cup.
In addition, there were three scores to handicap. This has also been helped by the Course Handicap shots under the WHS.
Winner of Captain's Cup: Sheila Terry.
Monthly Stableford:
Division 1:
1st Sheila Terry 41
2nd Trish Beckett 36 (countback)
Division Two:
1st Angela Hooper 36
2nd Helgi Sonsara 34
The following week was the April Monthly Medal.
Lady captain Jackie Mungovin had the best score of the day with a nett 63, nine-under par, which equates to a nett 61 for handicap, which was a brilliant effort.
There were another two results under par, namely Mavis Kunz with a nett 69 and Helgi Sonsara with a nett 70. A further two, Jayne Saunders and Angela Hooper, played to par.
That made it five people who played to par and better, one more than the previous week.
In addition, there were three birdies, which included two two's. Trish Beckett with a three on the 10th, Hooper with a two on the 12th and Helen Shields with a two on the 14th.
