THE first game of the Yorkshire Trophy has been confirmed, and more fans can attend than you might think.

Brighouse Town, who organised the post-season tournament, will be hosting Penistone Church at the Yorkshire Payments Stadium on Monday, May 17, with kick-off at 7:30pm.

And with that date being the day fans are allowed back into stadia up and down the country, 675 supporters will be allowed to go and watch.

The game will also have full match commentary on Brighouse Town Radio for those who cannot make it down.

Golcar United will be entertaining Liversedge in front of fans in the tournament on the same night.

Those four and Wakefield will be involved in the five-team, two-week competition, which saw the likes of Thackley, Eccleshill United and Campion drop out after its original start date of April 12 was shelved.

Problems included the need to repair pitches over the late spring and early summer, as well as only a short time between the tournament ending and pre-season training starting.
