FORMER Bradford Northern player Joe Pitts has joined the Bulls as commercial director.

Pitts, who was CEO of Rochdale Hornets in 2009, has previously sponsored the club in a number of areas.

He played for Bradford Northern, before signing for Bramley aged 19 and then Batley three years later. He also appeared West Bowling, Idle and Greengates during two decades playing rugby league after being introduced to the game by the legendary Trevor Foster.

Outside of the sport Pitts worked for BT for 32 years with most of that time in a sales/business manager role.

Pitts said: “I am delighted to take on this role with Bradford Bulls.

“I was very impressed with the passion that the team at the Bulls have and their vision of bringing the Bulls back to Bradford and for proud Bradfordians seeking to make them a successful team once more.

“If successful we will leave a good legacy and I want to play a major part in that legacy as another proud Bradfordian.

“I appreciate there will be challenges ahead and to some extent we have ground to recover but hopefully we can begin re-establish the club as a premier and credible business in the city.”

Bulls chairman Nigel Wood said “We are delighted that Joe has agreed to help the club. He is Bradford through and through, he has enjoyed a long and successful business career and knows the sport of rugby league from the inside.

“It goes without saying that we wish him well in his endeavours in progressing this vital role.”
